2. KEEPING IN MIND THE INCLUSIVITY WHILE DESIGNING THE LIBRARY ACTIVITIES IS A MUST.

3. PAMPHLETS, BROCHURES AND NEWSLETTERS SHOULD HAVE MULTITUDINAL CONTENT i.e. IT SHOULD HAVE QR CODE OF THE DOCUMENT etc.

4. LIBRARY BLOG SHOULD BE UPDATED IN A CLEAR MANNER. SHARE THE INFORMATION WITH STUDENTS WITH THE MEDIUM OF LIBRARY BLOG FOR ITS PROMOTION.

5. HINDI BOOKS PROCUREMENT SHOULD BEIN OPTIMUM NUMBER IN EACH PURCHASE. 50% OF BOOKS SHOULD BE PURCHASED IN HINDI.

6. E- RESOURCES ARE A BIG BOON TO MODERN DAY TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS. 



Learning  Diary

Day 1-   15 Feb. 2024

It was about sensitizing us on KVS Guidelines for School Library. Also the Procedure Manual was discussed.

The latest version of e granthalaya is also elaborated.

Constitution of various committees have been discussed with the Librarians attending the Inservice Course.

NEP 2020 and NCF 2023 was elaborated and its components were explained to us.

Five parts of NCF-SE 2023 was also discussed and explained.

 

Day 2-  16 Feb.2024

Communication Skills and its importance has been discussed in a Session taken by Associate Course Director Sh. S K Dash.

Types of communication were also discussed alongwith the anecdotal examples of his own experiences.

In the next session, Changing role of Library and Librarian has been displayed by Sh. Biswa Bagh, Course Coordinator.

Various Content Management softwares have been discussed.

Metadata is discussed. INPASS, WIPO, ESPACENT is discussed in light of the Patents and Intellectual Property rights.

 

Day 3-  17 Feb. 2024

Creation of e- portfolio for librarians was nicely explained by Sh. Adesh Kumar, Resource Person. He explained that this is the documentation of one’s work and professional achievements.

The various ten parts of e portfolio has been told and an assignment has been assigned to us in which each member has to prepare e-portfolio of himself/herself.

 

Day 4 - 18 Feb.2024

Every day began with the discussion of reflective practices of the previous day’s doubts of the participants.

After Mr. Sunil Saini, Resource person cleared our doubts about eG4.0 and e- portfolio; the first session was taken by Sh. VVA RAO, Training Associate.

He explained the Development of Skills in 21st Century. Various Life skills were discussed.Four C’s of it were also discussed.

Education as per 21st Century learning skills had been explained.CCT is explained. How to develop these required skills have been discussed.

In next session, Library Automation and Upgradation has been the topic of discussion. Various modules of eG4.0 has been elaborated.

Library Administrator module is elaborated. The difference between Books, Digital Material and e- Resources had been discussed. Using of Barcode and its various fonts have been discussed as well.

 

Day 5- 19 Feb.2024

NEP 2020 was discussed. Role of libraries in the School Education system was discussed as per the NCF SE 2023.

Also Class Library and its related rules were also discussed. How to ensure maximum usage of books in class library was discussed.

Inclusivity in education system was discused. This entire session was addressed by Sh. Sunil Saini, Resource Person.

Library Management, Reading Corner Requirement, Library Activities have been discussed as well.

In the next session taken by Sh. D B Ramesh, Guest lecture Resource person; Intellectual Property Rights were discussed.  Difference between  Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights was discussed.

In the Next session, Sh. Adesh Kumar, Resource Person,

e- Newsletter was discussed. It will be helpful to promote Library activities undertaken in library in a school ecosystem.

Open educational Resources were also briefed to us.

 

Day 6-  20 Feb. 2024

In the reflective practice session, Sh. Adesh Kumar and Sunil Saini, Resource Persons; told us about the newsletter making steps and its practical implications.

In the next session, Sh. Biswa Bagh, Course Coordinator, discussed Library management and Collection Development. Record management was also discussed. We were told the need of record management.

In the next session, Sh. Avinash Dash, Guest Lecturer ; discussed Raj Bhasha and its Implications in KVS and in School ecosystem.

In the next session, eG4.0 automation of library was elaborated. Digitalization of Library and its procedural study was done in the session. The module of eG4.0- Books Acquisition was discussed. Serial Control Module was also discussed.

Also it was told as to how we will search a digital document.

 

Day 7-  21 Feb. 2024

After the vibrant morning assembly and an informative reflective practices doubt clearing session, the day begin with the topic Awareness about KVS/Govt. of India Flagship Programs. The objectives of these programs were discussed. 

These programs included a discussion on -

1. SATHEE Portal - It is managed by IIT Kanpur. This is devoted to exam preparation material especially for NEET & JEE. (https://sathee.prutor.ai/)
2. Vidyanjali Portal - Resource Sharing . The sharing is done on two levels - Asset Level and Academic program level.

II session was about Library Blog. We were told on how to make Header in MS Word, Use the Snipping tool, Put <marquee> tag.

The entire editing of Blog is taught to us on Visual Aid.

III session is about uploading pdf in the post in a blog.


Day 8 - 22 Feb. 2024

The day began with the lovely morning assembly and douobt clearing session by resource persons. The first session was about HTML Coding software W3School.

Stock Verification and weeding out was discussed in detail with all the doubt clearing as per Govt. Financial Rules.

Stock Taking Register maintenance was also talked about.

II Session was about Personality Development by Smt. Smarnika Panda - Psychologist.

She told us about Soft Skills and our Intrinsic being with the play way method. She conducted two classroom fun activities and help us find out how others perceive our personality and how that differs from our own mind makeup.

She discussed various presonality parameters.

III Session was about OER (Open Educational Resources)

5 R Activity was discussed.

Creative Commons was discussed elaborately.

Indian Initiatives like KVS Gyan Kosh, NPTEL, NDL, SWAYAM, Moocs, Joomla, Virtual Labs, O Labs, FOSSEE, Shodh Ganga, Vidwan, Yantra, Sathee, MERLOT, Wikiuniversity, Open Textbook Library, PubMEd Central. 

All these were discussed one after the other.

In the Library Blog Session, it was told that how to put RSS Feed in a blog.

Day 9- 23 Feb 2024

The day began with the morning assembly and a quiz session, report reading of a previous day and a doubt clearing session.

The first session of the day was about Tools and Techniques of Promoting Reading Habits among students by our resource person Sh. Sunil Saini, ZIET Chandigarh.  This discussion involved an interaction about Educational Websites, OER Links.

Liasioning with Authors on Local level or Alumni People can be a good activity.

The II half of the day was spent in an educational tour to KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar. The massive, multi-story Library of this reputed Institution was visited by the participants of Inservice course.

The visit was quite refreshing and a change to the classroom routine.


Day 10 - 24 Feb 2024

The day started with the enchanting morning assembly and a vibrant quiz session. It was followed by a report reading session by the group members from amongst the participants.

The session started with the topic of Wakelet and the steps of its usage.

Virtual Library through Wakelet was explained by Sh. Adesh Kumar, Resource Person. 

Student Innovation Council and its utility is also discussed.

In the Second Session, Five laws of Library Science were discussed.

Also 8 categories of Inclusion were discussed. 

RPD 2016 ( Rights to Person with Disabilities Act 2016) was discussed.

Day 11 - 25 Feb  2024

Excursion Trip to Puri, Konark. Full day.


Day 12- 26 Feb 2024

SEDG's were discussed in the first session.

(Socio, Economic and Disadvantaged groups)- 5 categories 

Action Research is discussed by a Guest lecturer from RIE.

In the II session , Wakelet is discussed again.

Padelet is also discussed.


Day 13 - 27 Feb 2024

Framework for Planning is discussed. 

8 parts of Lesson Planning is discussed.

Statement of Philosophy is elaborately discussed,

In the Next session, ALAP (Annual Library Activity Plan) is discussed. 

Career Guidance is also discussed with the help of interaction method.


Day 14- 28 Feb 2024

The Session began with CCS Conduct Rules, 1964 . It was a massive discussion.

Article 59 and Article 80 of Education Code is elaborated by the Course Director Madam- Smt. PBS Usha.

10 Steps of Action Research is re established in the Session.

How to effectively perform library functions is elaborated.


Day 15- 29 Feb 2024

The first topic of discussion was Child Rights. It included discussion on United Nations Convention.

The Four Guiding Principles of UN Convention were discussed. It included Non Discrimination, Right to Life and survival, Best Interests of Children and Youth, Respect the Views of Children.

The Rights of Children were discussed. 

Right to Free and Compulsory Education(RTE) 2009 was discussed.

NCPCR ( National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) was passed in March 2007.

JJ Act- Juvenile Justice Act was discussed.

POCSO Act was discussed. Few flashes of the movie 'Komal' was shown. 1098 Child Helpline number is told.

Hands on Session for Group Assignment was given to all of us towards the second half of the day.


Day 16 - 01 March 2024

The first session was about detailed interaction about Statement of Philosphy. An activity is also conducted on it. 

Various formats of STP were shared.

SWOT and JOHARI Window were discussed.

The Second session was about Mental Health and its implications. 

In the next session, participant Demo sessions were presented. 

MOOCS were discussed. Cloud Computing is Discussed.


Day 17 - 02 March 2024
